Customer Usability Testing
To ensure that the web sites we develop are customer-centric and effective, Icon Interactive™ offers Customer Usability Testing at key points in our development process. At the beginning of the process, we assess what customers are looking for from your company’s web site. As designs are developed, customers are asked to react to the proposed designs. When the site is complete, clients use the site and provide feedback.
This process provides our multidisciplinary team with access to members of the target market at key points during the development process.
- Goal Definition
The goal of customer usability testing is to achieve the most effective, most customer-centric site possible.
- Participant Identification
Based on customer insights, and the pre-identified goals, we typically identify a minimum of six customers to participate.
- Participant Instruction
Prior to participation, each customer is provided with an overview of the process.
- Design Concept
When design concepts are prepared, participants are asked to view paper or online mark-ups of design concepts.
- Online Testing
When key portions of the site are complete, participants are asked to login to complete specific tasks and react to content/design.
- Reporting
Insight gained throughout the process is used to make the web site more effective. However, the Customer Usability Report summarizes findings from each step.
Customer Usability testing is the foundation of an iterative, or repeated, design approach. The process allows Icon Interactive™ to create the most useful and usable Web site by developing and testing prototypes throughout project implementation. |
